Information Marketing Secrets
As a Small Business Owner the Dollars You Spend on Marketing have to Produce Results
Branding marketing is something that may be nice to have after your direct response marketing is producing results for you. However, the marketing dollars you invest must:
- produce highly qualified prospects entering your marketing funnel
- generate enough revenue to pay for itself
- position you as a trusted adviser
- start a relationship with your prospects that you can build on
And value is exactly what you want to convey in your marketing. This is so important because when you bring value to someone they value you. When your marketing message is only about your, or it contains unbelievable hype it won’t be received.
A message that isn’t received can’t produce a desired action. People only pay attention to communications that are relevant to what they want and need. Not only will they pay attention, but they’ll want to know more when you have a valuable marketing message.
Unfortunately, most marketers think the purpose of communication is to make you understand. You can’t make someone understand because you can’t force them to pay attention to you. The desired outcome you want to produce with your marketing message:
- is to gain the interest of highly qualified prospects
- is to develop a desire within that prospect to want to know more
- is to motivate the prospect to action
you want those highly qualified prospects to initiate contact with you.
When they reach out to you to learn more you are in the position you want to be in. You are the trusted adviser prepared to help them get what they want. The secret to successfully using information marketing is based on knowing:
- who has a need for the solution(s) you can produce
- what those highly qualified prospects want
- how they want what they want provided
- how you can give the people you want to work with what they want the way they want it
The first step to successfully using information marketing is doing your market research. The information you need to do your research is readily available to you at low or no cost. You simply can’t try to guess. If you do your best marketing efforts will bomb.
Your marketing doesn’t have to be perfect to produce good results. It’s better to do something than nothing at all, and this is especially true in marketing. Good enough marketing is good enough to produce enough results to pay for itself so you can test it and improve it while obtaining prospects and profits.
